Features

What PlotAndPetal does, and exactly where it does it — no feature is claimed for a platform it doesn't run on yet.

Features, by platform

Every feature below says where it actually works today. The iPhone app is furthest along and is in testing, not in the App Store yet. Android comes next, and the browser version comes after the phone apps.

On iPhone today A real map of your garden — plants placed bed by bed, on a grid that matches your actual layout, not a generic template.
On iPhone today A log for every plant — notes, bloom stage, tasks and flags for each visit, so you can see what actually happened, not just what you meant to do.
On iPhone today Photos and growth history in that log — attach a photo to a log entry and see how a plant changed over time.
On iPhone today Harvest tracking for food plants — yield totals by weight or count, logged per plant.
On iPhone today Plant care library — care, pruning, feeding, and problem-solving info for each plant in the catalog, sourced from university extension and other cited references. See Sources for how we cite things.
On iPhone today A toxicity/safety reference for pets and people, so you know what's risky before you plant it.
On iPhone today Weather and frost (U.S.) — local conditions, radar, recent rainfall and frost warnings for your garden. Weather is available for the United States.
On iPhone today Reminders — send care tasks to Apple Reminders or Calendar, or turn on notifications for what is due.
On iPhone today Propagation tips — how and when to propagate what you're growing.
On iPhone today Vintage botanical art for your collection, styled like old plate illustrations.

Not built yet

So nobody's surprised by what isn't here:

No photo-based plant ID or disease scanning yet.
No cross-device sync yet — right now it's one device at a time.
Not on the App Store yet — still in development, testing on real devices.
iOS is furthest along; Android is in progress behind it, and the browser version comes after the phone apps.

This page describes the app's current, in-development state and will change as features ship. Nothing here is a promise of a ship date.
