Toxic to pets
Toxic to pets

Not individually listed by ASPCA under this species' own name. ASPCA does confirm a close relative, Anthurium scherzeranum (also popularly called "Flamingo Flower"), as toxic to dogs, cats and horses via insoluble calcium oxalates: oral irritation, pain and swelling of the mouth/tongue/lips, drooling, vomiting, difficulty swallowing. Treated as toxic here on that same-genus basis, not confirmed for this exact species.

PlotAndPetal cannot tell you whether a plant you found can be eaten. Only someone who can see the plant can identify it.

Look-alike warning
Could be mistaken for ASPCA's own page titled 'Flamingo Flower' (Anthurium scherzeranum), a different species from this guide (Anthurium andraeanum). To tell them apart: Same genus, different species: no independently confirmed visual distinguishing feature between them; check the botanical name.. Same common name, different species. ASPCA confirms the other species (Anthurium scherzeranum) as toxic to dogs, cats and horses; this plant is not listed by ASPCA, so it is treated as toxic on a same-genus basis, not confirmed for this exact species.
