Slash pine
Pinus elliottii Engelm.
Family: Pinaceae
Pet & Human Safety
People: Not researchedPets: Not on the ASPCA lists as we read them
ASPCA's list has no entry for slash pine. Its pine entries (bull pine, ponderosa pine, western yellow pine, yellow pine, blackjack pine) are all Pinus ponderosa, listed as toxic to horses (isocupressic acid; abortion in cattle) and, for one page, non-toxic to dogs and cats. Those are a different species, so they are not applied here. No all-clear is given; treat this plant as unchecked for pets.
