How complete this information is
We have not researched the safety of this plant yet.
Toxic to pets
No ASPCA entry found.

No ASPCA page or other pet statement was found. That is not a finding that it is safe.

Look-alike warning
Could be mistaken for Plants that share its name. To tell them apart: UF/IFAS's tropical fruit page lists 'Abiu' and 'Caimito (Star Apple)' as separate home-landscape publications, so the two names may be different fruits. Do not treat 'caimito' as a name for this plant until a source ties it to Pouteria caimito. Canistel and sapodilla also have their own UF/IFAS publications (other sapote-family fruits)..
Human edibility not yet verified. A pet-toxicity listing answers a different question and does not mean any part of this plant is safe for a person to eat, raw or prepared. Check WHO, FDA, CDC or your extension service before eating any part of this plant.

Poison control

If someone has collapsed, cannot be woken, is having a seizure or has trouble breathing, call 911 now. For any other possible poisoning, call Poison Help: 1-800-222-1222.
