Bulbous buttercup
Ranunculus bulbosus
Family: Ranunculaceae
Pet & Human Safety
People: Not researchedPets: Toxic to pets
ASPCA's whole-genus Buttercup page lists buttercups as toxic to dogs, cats and horses. It names protoanemonin (an irritant) as the toxic principle and lists vomiting, diarrhea, depression, loss of appetite, drooling, mouth ulcers and a wobbly gait as signs. The page is for Ranunculus species in general, not R. bulbosus by name; do not treat this plant as pet-safe.
